More rubbishy concerns

LPG phoned the council to find out what they had to say about GF’s findings. We phoned the main number and were put through to their Enviro-call department, (0208 314 6000 – opt to talk to the operator by holding and not pressing any buttons), after hearing a recording that steered us toward the internet and then left us with the option of being called back, which they guarantee will happen within two hours.
When we were called back, the staff member was really helpful and told us that armed with a name and address they would get a grey bin delivered to anyone who did not have one.
We also asked about GF’s other friend’s predicament and we were told that it was more likely that not emptying her bin would have been an omission on the part of the bin men rather than a deliberate act. We were advised that people who occasionally find it difficult to recycle should put all their rubbish in the black bin where, as long as there are no obvious additions - such as garden waste, it should be collected in the normal way.
They also added that a person in this position should complete a ‘Refuse and Recycling Assisted Collection Form’ which they will be able to get by phoning the council’s Enviro-call department, or downloading it off the internet (►►►).
Finally we did mention the issue of soiled incontinence pads and nappies and we were told that if they are bagged properly it is acceptable for them to be stored in a black bin for two weeks.
