The ‘Before’ Picture
11 Apr 2018
Dear LPG
I have recently discovered the LPG site and find some of the news articles very informative and really worth referring back to. One such article dated 13th August this year caught my attention and the editorial on that day was very informative.
Here is another use for your phone. I recently had some work done at home. We decided on a new bathroom and all went to plan although the builders suggested that we renewed all the water piping in the house and changed the radiators. This was quite a big task and for about a week there were floorboards up all over the place.
Before the beginning of the work I did have the presence of mind to take photographs and, of course, when I became the owner of a transformed bathroom I took lots more.
It occurred to me that had something gone wrong, these pictures would have been invaluable when I was trying to explain the problems, and measuring the improvements can be done so much more easily with that “before” picture. It is also nice to be able to look back and see the results of that very expensive transformation.
So my advice is that when you are about to have any major work done, keep a pictorial record of what happened and when. It is even worth taking pictures of the job at stages as it progresses.
