How Fat Is Fat When It Comes To Your Cat
01 Jun 2018
Dear LPG,
I read the other day that more and more people live on their own and the figure is expected to rise considerably over the next quarter of a century. I suppose I am a typical elderly person who most would say lives on her own, but they would be wrong.
I count my pet cat as being my company and, although she is very independent, I find that the little bit of looking after and the affection that she allows me to lavish on her makes all the difference to my living situation. Her comings and goings, having her on my lap while I watch my favourite soap opera and having ‘someone’ to care about have become a really significant part of my life. You might say that she is one of my best friends.
As with most ‘best friends’, there are times when you worry about them and I have a concern. Lately quite a few of my visiting friends have remarked about how fat she is getting. I have to admit that I never really noticed but hearing the comment more than once and uttered by quite a few friends got me wondering if there is anything I should do.
Visits to see the vet can get expensive, and there is nothing really wrong with her, but it occurred to me that I should do a bit of research, and now that I have, I would like to share what I have found just in case there are any readers out there with a similar concern.
To this end I have asked LPG to share the web pages that I found on the subject.
IG, Bellingham.
LPG offers you the information that IG found on the subject and some of our own findings… we offer pages which will help you find an on line cat weight calculator, help you on the subject of how to check your cat’s weight at home, what to do to lower their food intake, if need be, and a few ideas on how to get them more active… we hope it helps.
