What we have to teach the young.

Dear LPG
I was reading an article which you posted on 22nd August and which had the title ‘Our need to be needed’. I do have to agree with what was written, but it got me thinking and I ended up taking a look at the subject with the help of Google. I was surprised to find out how much information is on line and aimed at and for younger people, on the subject of the life lessons that the older people of the world can teach them.
I am hoping that LPG will share some of the sites that I found, just in case there are any readers who are not sure of the kind of lessons and experiences that they can pass on when the opportunity arises.
There is something really special about being able to relate to the younger people in our lives. Most people take it for granted that they will interact with the younger members of their families but there are a surprising number of pensioners who have no younger family members and don’t get the chance to interact and chat with them.
So when the opportunity arises, and if there is no one else to discuss this with, please be armed by learning about the suggested life lessons that the internet recommends. I am hoping that LPG will provide links to the sites that I found.
I find that having a chat with a younger person every now and then makes me feel a bit younger and has a really positive effect on my day, and I can recommend it as a real tonic.
