Where has that gone now?
06 Sep 2018
Dear LPG,
Have you ever had one of those days when everything feels wrong?
Recently I decided to get up really early to do a bit of shopping online. I have observed the advice of the LPG post entitled ‘Another Way To Be Safe When Paying Online’ which featured as the LPG news post on the 18th January 2018, and with the card from my second bank account I prepared to buy a present I wanted to send to a friend. I remembered phoning the bank to transfer the money needed to that account the day before but when I needed the card and looked where I usually keep it it was missing. I spent about half an hour searching for it before finding it exactly where it should have been.
After the stress of all that I decided to make a visit to see a friend. I had promised to be there on time and had worked out exactly when I needed to leave but when I got to the front door I could not find my keys and spent a lot of time looking for them while stressing about how late I was going to be.
I finally found them but as I got to the end of the street I realised that I had left something I had promised to take with me and I had to go back for it which made my morning more stressful.
The most worrying thing is that I am starting to believe that this is the beginning of the end and that perhaps dementia is setting in even though I am still in my 60s, but I have found a reassuring bit of information online which I would like to share with my fellow readers.
It appears to me that, on those days when one thing goes wrong everything else follows, but we need to remember that it is not an everyday occurrence. So while I know that this does happen to a lot of people apart from me, it does not necessarily mean that we are all going bonkers quite yet

KE passed on the promised information and LPG has also found some suggestions about how to improve skills surrounding forgetting where you have put things…
