I hope you are having a laugh…

Dear LPG
We all know that being happy is good for us and, when we do feel truly cheerful this world of ours feels more like a genuinely good place to find ourselves in each morning. I know that when I am feeling happy I feel ready for anything the day can throw my way in spite of ongoing problems in my life and aches and pains that I suffer nearly all the time these days.
In the winter the long nights force many to stay at home for longer periods of time and, as many of us elders live alone, the increased bouts of time in our own company do not always instil positivity.
I recently heard that laughing is good for you even if you are not indulging as the result of a joke you just heard or a reaction to the person you saw trip as they walked down the street.
It has always been generally accepted that you need to be in a good, positive mood to be able to laugh but, as a result of in Indian doctor’s research in the 1990s, it is now becoming more and more accepted as a form of exercise and therapy in its own right.
I know a few people who attended a class recently and, even though I did not, their comments provoked me to take a look at what it is all about online. I found information about what is now called Yoga therapy and I have to admit that by the time I got half way through watching the video, that I have asked LPG to share, I had to join in.
I have to say that I felt better for having a laugh and the real advantage was that no one saw me making a bit of a fool of myself.
I invite you to watch the video and have a go.
PS, Telegraph Hill.
