Dear LPG,

I really enjoy reading your news articles.  Your site nearly always offers something different to think about every day.  I particularly enjoy clicking on the links at the bottom where there is always some information worth learning and really enjoy the videos that you leave for your readers to take a look at.

But the other day I clicked at the bottom and there was nothing there.  So I would like to ask what I can do to get back to that information when this happens.

Unfortunately the real answer is nothing.  A URL could be described as the ‘registration number’ of a particular page on the internet and a Hyperlink allows us to give readers a way to navigate strait to a page we think you might want to see,  but each page is provided by someone who wrote it.  Readers may remember our trying to explain a little about how the page names are put together, which was featured on March 13^th 2018 (►►►).  In fact we use the sign that precedes this sentence to denote one on our web pages.

Each and every page of internet information has to be put there by somebody and consequently they can also take the page and information away just as easily.  Many pages need to be paid for, and if the person paying stops doing so for some reason the page will cease to be, and sometimes if the writer of the page does not visit it for a period the sites or page can be automatically taken down.  

So while the pages are there when we post them we cannot guarantee that they won’t be changed or taken down by the time our readers stumble upon them.
