Dear LPG,

I would just like to remind LPG readers that this is ‘Free Will Month’, even though for so many people making one  is one of those tasks that we know we need to deal with but that somehow keeps getting shoved   lower and lower down our list of priorities.  It is often the one thing that sadly gets put off until it is all too late.

The idea is that if you make an appointment with certain solicitors and organisations during what is left of the month of March 2019, and you are willing to give a portion of what you leave in your will for a charity, you can arrange to have a will written for free.

Even if you do not have time to sort it out this month it is still worth remembering that, although many of us really don’t think we have much to leave, it is nice to know that we have control over who gets whatever we have and, whether or not it is the cost of getting it written that is putting us off, the month of March is perhaps the time to give it a thought.
