Dear LPG,

I know that, as winters go, this has not been a bad one but as we get older we feel the cold and the utility bills have a habit of rising quite steeply.  I am old fashioned and pay quarterly, but that just means that come March I will find that rather large bill landing on my front doormat. 

I feel confident that I will be able to pay it, but we are always hearing about the fact that the winter months are those where most people get into debt and for older people it is often the fuel bills that cause the biggest problems. The news informs that it is a nationwide issue so it follows that Lewisham and the surrounding boroughs must also be affected. 

With that in mind I did a little research and found some information about how one can qualify for help with fuel payments, and who can qualify, that I feel may be of help to some LPG readers.   I know that what I have offered here can be found by anyone who can use Google, but I hope that it will be handy to have it all in one place.
