A present that there will be space for…

24 Nov 2020

Dear LPG

Did you know that there are now only 35 shopping days left before Christmas 2020?    I have seen other articles posted about one of the overlying problems that the run up to that time of year brings with it and that is what presents to get each of our friends and family members for when the big day arrives.

I have seen some really good suggestions on the LPG site such as making something really unique to add a little opulence to a bath and also the suggestion about advent cards which can be bought or made to add a really personal touch that younger grandchildren might appreciate as the run up to the big day starts.

I find that the hardest people to buy for are those family members of a similar age to myself; those who, like me, have already got everything they will ever really need and very little space for more trinkets.

So, I have found another present idea which I know would make me smile and that is a collection of photos which deserve to be shared with all the family members of a certain age.

Old family photos are something to be treasured and, even if your planned recipient already has a digital photo frame, spending a little time with your mobile phone taking photos of those old family pictures that perhaps you now have the only surviving copy of, evokes wonderful memories for those members of the family who have a computer or so many pictures that there is no more space on their walls.

Once the pictures have been recorded in our phones, we will just have to get someone who knows how to add the pictures to a memory stick. They make very special components of a pictorial screen saver on tablets or laptops and take up virtually no room in an already overcrowded home.

LPG found some basic instructions just in case you want to try to transfer them yourself.  Perhaps the easiest way is a two-part process, you will need to transfer the pictures from your mobile phone or camera to a desktop or laptop, and then transfer the ones you want onto the memory stick.

We agree with AR that it is not that hard to do but perhaps you will need to get someone who knows how to work with you the first time…
