When hot nights make sleeping difficult…

Dear LPG,
I know complaining is one of the things that other age groups in our society will say that we older people always do, but I think that now that the nights are really warm it is even harder than ever to get to sleep.
I have heard it said quite a lot during the past couple of ‘stay at home’ months that many people are finding sleeping at night quite hard and, for those who are a bit older, being stuck at home has given us so much more time to get bored, relatively lazy and sleepy during the days, but the hot nights must be giving us all yet another reason to spend far too many of our bedtime hours looking out into the dark.
I know that there are those who have added their electronic tablets or mobile smartphones to the items that they keep under their pillows so that they can reach for a diversion when lying there with many hours to go before first light becomes visible through the crack between the curtains and the corner of the window and, being one of them, I decided to take another look at what the internet has to say about keeping cool at night.
All I could find were the usual ideas that the internet has come up with for LPG to add at the bottom of my post.
Although it is included in some of the other lists online, I found one of the most interesting ideas on this very website and would also like to point you towards that one, I have tried it and I think that it really helps…
