nd all that arthritic stuff…
Dear LPG,
I am sure that I am not the first person to have talked about this subject on the LPG website, but I would just like to mention once again, something that so many of us learn about as we get older. I am talking about arthritis.
Though I know that, by comparison with so many others I really don’t have problems yet, I am so aware that the beginnings of what is to come is becoming a reality for me. Over the past few years, I have found that actually getting out of bed in the mornings is taking a little longer, and while the warmer weather always helps me forget, it becomes progressively a more painful process as the weather starts to change in preparation for the winter. I am now starting to feel those little hints that my joints give me.
I think that this year might be a little worse for us sufferers, because of all the exercise we did not get during this spring and summer’s lockdown and, now that the winter weather is hinting at its return, a bit of a reminder about the positive influences that might stave off at least some of this affliction’s negative effects would be something worth writing about.
With this in mind I took a look at the internet and found some information and exercises that might just help to minimise its effects this year, and I hope that leaving links to a few might help my fellow readers to try a new approach or rekindle any exercises that worked for them in the past.
I hope they help…
CH, Downham
LPG would, as always, suggest caution on two fronts when it comes to any exercise. We firstly suggest that you try to have someone with you the first few times you try them and secondly would like to remind readers of the advantages of asking your GP before you get started.
