Dear LPG,

I am sure that I am not the only reader of these pages who will remember having the order,’ bend down and touch your toes shouted at you and all your school classmates on a cold winter’s morning in a cold gym hall, while you were one of the members of a line of children dressed in your navy-blue knickers and vests (if you were a girl) or vest and shorts (if a boy). I also bet that you remember the experience with dubious feelings of love and dislike. I often think that P.T. at junior school was not something I would inflict on anybody.

Isn’t it good when that is all over and you never have to touch your toes again?  Well that is what I thought until one day I realised that I can’t actually reach them at all any more.   It is then that you just know that your toenails are going to suffer, and that happened to me about ten years ago.

I finally found the Bethune Beauty Clinic, an organisation that provides all sorts of treatments for both gentlemen and ladies, including a visiting toenail cutting service, and I would really recommend it.  I have been lucky enough to have the same person visit me regularly throughout the years, I have come to regard her as much more than just my visiting therapist.   She has impressed me so much that I have passed her details on to some of my other older family members and it has now occurred to me that, in these days when we are not sure if there will be another period of lockdown, there may well be many pensioners who could do with this service.

So, just in case there are any other readers who, no matter how many times that teacher’s voice sounds in their head, would not be able to touch their toes let alone cut their toenails anymore, I would just like to pass on their details in the hope that they might just be the answer to one problem.
