A reason to stagger your jabs…
23 Mar 2021
Dear LPG,
MY mother and I share a house and I try my best to be there for her at all times. I was there when she had her covid-19 vaccination and we did read all the information about the side effects. I have to say that the effect it had on her did worry me a little but she is fine now.
She was OK the next day but the day after she told me that all her muscles were aching and she did not want to eat. I have to say that I was quite worried about her for a few days.
Even though I am a lot younger than her, and in spite of the fact that I was offered the jab at the same time I decided against it. I thought it would not be fair because I would be robbing an older person of their jab so I waited for my letter and had my jab two days ago. Yesterday I understood exactly what my mother was going through. It only lasted for a day but yesterday was a day when I was unable to do anything but stay in bed.
I need to stress that I am perfectly fine now and suppose that it stands to reason that people from the same family would be affected in a similar way and to a similar extent.
I read on line that the side effects from the second vaccination might be even more extreme than the first so, while it may well be a little late in the day for passing on what this experience has taught me, I think it might be worth mentioning that if you live in the same home and depend on each other, it might be worth not having your jabs at the same time.
