Dentures, soap, water, bleach, vinegar and more…

23 Apr 2021

Dear LPG,

During the past year when it has been difficult to get out I have depended on my children to bring my grocery’s for me, and they have done a really good job of being there and not being there at the same time if you know what I mean.  I have been lucky so far and not suffered any of the effects of Covid-19, and I put a lot of that down to not having had to go out at all and only seeing my children, or anyone else, from the garden side of the front door.

But there is always something that you forget when sorting out what you want them to buy you and the thing that I ran out of very quickly is the stuff you clean your dentures with.

I think that we have all now been thoroughly schooled in the knowledge that getting close to people is one of the best ways to pass on what you have, or of getting what they have and, that being the case, I quickly decided that visiting the hairdresser or the dentist are two places I should avoid for now and the foreseeable future.

Dentures are not the first point of conversation that come to mind when having a chat with your children and, if I am honest, perhaps that had more to do with my not adding it to my shopping list, but then I needed to look for something to use in its place.  I think that many denture users will agree that toothpaste is OK but it is not the same.  When you have no one else to ask there is always the internet and You Tube had lots of answers for me.

I suspect that I am not the only reader who has come across this problem and, having found some alternatives, I thought it would be a good idea to pass on some of them.

Having written this and with my hang-ups about my dentures I have decided to remain extra anonymous…

XX, somewhere in internet land.

XX has found us some alternative ways to clean your dentures when the cleaning tablets run out…
