A month of ‘Once upon a times’…
27 Apr 2022
Dear readers,
LPG would like to acquaint readers with one of those national days that are really geared towards young children although we older people have a lot to offer on such a day. For those that do not know, while there are a few days aimed at reminding people about storytelling, today is National Tell a Story Day and while it is designed to encourage the young to use their imaginations, we older people don’t have to work that hard at it. We are the members of society that each have a lifetime of real stories to offer.
Time was when they all had to be told because that was the only way of communicating anything, but times have so changed. We now have books films and videos to tell and retell so many different tales.
We at LPG hope that we offer a diversity of ideas and information on our web pages but, we are in the business of passing them on and sharing them rather than creating them ourselves. We pride ourselves on being able to offer a diversity of articles and many are born out of readers’ advice, complaints and experiences, and many begin with a story to illustrate a point or back up a moralistic message, but a few once upon a times which appear purely for entertainment purposes would really be appreciated during the month of May which is now recognised as National Tell a Story Month.
So National Tell a Story Day gives LPG the perfect opportunity to invite some of our readers to make the change to contributor by relating a story or two without a moral, that are not trying to make any sort of point but just because it happened.
As ever we are happy to write them down for you if you take the time to tell us and you will always see the finished article before it goes live. We would also remind readers of our policy of anonymity where we will only ever attribute articles by accompanying them with some initials and the area they originate from; whatever the writer prefers.
