Dear LPG, 

Now that I am older, I find myself with a completely new set of close friends.  I never get over the fact that, after all the years that I have spent talking to people, there is still so much to talk about although one subject seems to recur just a bit more than others as we get older.  

Whatever the subject and whichever of my friends I am talking to, there are those little lulls in the conversation because concentration has been lost together with the whole thread of the chat, all too often these days.  Then, when it happens, the subject that we were talking about gets lost while we recall all the things we have forgotten to do or buy or say to people.

The point is that I have definitely become more forgetful in recent years, and I have noticed that many of my friends of a similar age are showing signs of the same thing.  

Once you have learnt the secret, taking a look at what the internet has to say about such subjects seems to be one way to find out more, and one of the many bits of advice I found there is that we need to keep our minds active and talking is one very good way of doing that from what I have read.  

I have found a few other bits of information that might help when it comes to exercising that part of your anatomy and, if like me you are not a fan of crosswords and word searches, and you find that the telly just sends you to sleep, I have found a few bits of internet information I would like to pass on.

There is one other point that I have read on LPG pages more than once in the past.  There is no point in dwelling on it.  If you are going to forget everything at some time in the future, there is really no point in worrying about it.  You might as well use the brain power you have to think positively while you can…
