If you can’t hide it, at least disguise it…

Dear LPG,
I recently wrote down my thoughts in regard to getting more of the older men of the world to recognise that looking good is something that we gentlemen need to be seen to be doing as much as our ladies do (►►►), but having had a little time to further inspect what I wrote back then I realised that I left something out.
I don’t mean to embarrass any lady but there is a lot of information out there which is dedicated to improving one of the parts of their bodies that tend to ‘loosen up’ as they get older. I am talking about their tummies and, while there are many reasons that might be the cause, the most obvious one must be more common than most of the others. I am no medical expert but it is more than obvious that those female tummies often suffer from muscles that just can’t cope as well as they used to because of all that stretching out they are forced to do as their owners do their bit to perpetuate the human race.
The sad thing is that our ladies are not the only ones. We men tend to get a little loose in that area too and I include myself when I say this. I know that I can only blame myself in part because of my long-enduring habit of filling the organ behind it with far too many pints over the years, and I don’t mean pints of milk. It is a sad fact of life that most of my drinking buddies have similar versions of my more portly look too.
Since writing my last piece I have influenced many an evening by getting my drinking partners to think just a little more about the way we older gentlemen look, and I can say that I have noticed a few little changes in some of their dress codes but, if you are a gentleman who suffers from seeing a more ‘paunchy’ looking you looking back at you when you take a look in the mirror, the internet has taught me a few things that you can do to disguise it even if you cannot do much about its shape and size (although a few less nights in the pub might help).
Having done a little internet research, I feel it only fair to again pass on my findings in a bid to help any other LPG reader with a similar aspect of their physique that might benefit from a little subtle enhancement…
