We have all moved on but it is still out there…

Dear LPG
For some reason, most of us see Covid-19 as a thing of the past. It is unusual to see someone with a mask walking down the street or on a bus these days, and 18 months after the last official lockdown, it is easy to feel safe again. We have all been well and truly jabbed, and so much news has replaced those pandemic headlines that we all feel relatively safe now.
Now and then, I have had friends who have mentioned it, and a week or so later, it has gone. I think that most of us now believe that it is something that we are not that likely to get again as long as we are careful, but it is still out there.
The place to get infected seems to be your local hospital, and my housemate has a friend who is there right now. He visited one time too many last week and then got the news that the ward he had visited was infected. I dug out a couple of those old tests, and they showed that he was positive, but I was not.
The truth is that we have had it before, and so we knew what we were in for, but I wanted to find out what I could do, if anything, to avoid getting it again. I worked out that I would be more help to my housemate if I remained well.
I found some guidelines which I thought might come in handy, although they originated a few years ago and on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. I am unsure if following them will make a difference, but a quick read-through might help if you find yourself in a similar position…

KF shares the guidelines that might be worth reading just in case…
