Grow Vegetables, Grow Friendships

21 Aug 2017

Now that spring has arrived, you might be feeling like spending more time outdoors. There are a wide range of activities that you can do in the fresh air, but few of them turn out to be as gratifying as growing your own food. It is never too late to start experiencing the satisfaction of planting some seeds in your garden and harvesting some fresh veggies after a few months.

If you have never harvested your own vegetables before, but you would like to give it a try, the first step is deciding what to plant. Carrots, tomatoes, peppers, and onions are some of the easiest vegetables to grow, so you should probably start with them.

You also have to find the most efficient way of using the available space. Is the vegetables garden close to a source of water? Is there any protection from frost and wind? Is the location of the garden going to receive enough sunlight? Those are some of the questions that need to be answered if you want to succeed.

Growing your own food doesn’t have to be a lonely activity. It would actually be more rewarding if you did it with some friends. It would be a perfect opportunity to work toward a common goal, which would help you get closer and get to know each other better. Another advantage of doing it with someone else is that; if you live on your own, spending time with other people while doing something rewarding will make you feel happier. Just ask your friends to join you. You may be surprised at how much fun it is!
