Walking routes for everybody
19 Aug 2017
Walking is a healthy and popular hobby. This outdoor activity shouldn’t be seen as an obligation. The secret of enjoying walking is to find the right place to go for a walk. If you are a nature lover, you will enjoy going for a walk in the park. Alternatively, if you are more of the urban type, a walk in a neighbourhood that you don’t know yet will be the best option for you.
There are several interesting walks in the borough. Some popular routes that include areas of interest and places for a cuppa can be found here: http://www.lewisham.gov.uk/inmyarea/sport/get-active/walking/Pages/walking-for-pleasure.aspx Riverside walks are also a good choice, especially if you want to learn about plants and wildlife.
If you want to get out of Lewisham for a walk, check out Walk London website (http://www.walklondon.org.uk/). Walk London offers over 40 free led walks around London and seven walking routes information. You can also join the Saturday Walkers Club (https://www.walkingclub.org.uk/), a Southeast England based walking group, which organises walks each week in South East England about an hour away from Central London.
However, if you prefer to customise your own walking route, try Walkit (www.walkit.com). Walkit is a walking route planner that helps you create your own circular walking routes considering how long you want the route to be.
Choose the kind of route you enjoy and keep moving!
