Social Care Services: Any Complaints?

20 Sep 2017

Lewisham council wants to know what people think of the care services they provide, that’s why they encourage you to give your feedback. Whether you’re a service user, a relative or a carer, your opinion is important to change what needs to be changed, keep what needs to be kept and improve what needs some improvement.

As explained on Lewisham council website, some of the issues that they can help you with are the need of immediate help, concerns about a person with a physical or a sensory disability, and support in coping with someone who has mental health problems. Of course, you can let them know about many other issues: are you not happy with the support you’re getting? Let them know. Do you think that the “care at home” program could be improved in any way? Just get in touch with them.

Once they get your complaint, they will look into it with the next 25 working days and they will inform you about any learning or improvements they think can be made as a result of your complaint and how will implement it.

You can contact them in writing, either by post or email, or by telephone, but there is also an online form available. This form can be filled in by yourself but you can also ask someone to fill it in on your behalf. You may think that getting better social care is not really in your hands, but providing your feedback is the first step we all should take. Keep in mind that if they don’t hear from social care services users, they will never know how to do a better job.
