Gaz Recipe
This is one of the simplest recipes that we have ever featured but, for all that, it is a really quick, hearty, warming dish that could come in useful during the forthcoming winter months?
Baked Spaghetti
100g Spaghetti
1 290g tin Concentrated Tomato soup
230g Strong cheese (blue or cheddar)
3g Margarine
Cook the Spaghetti as instructed on the packet. Strain it thoroughly. Preheat the oven to 200º C or gas mark 6 and then grate the cheese. Add 2/3rds of the cheese to the concentrated tomato soup before transferring this to the spaghetti. Mix it gently but add no extra water. Line a suitably sized ovenproof dish with the margarine and then pour in the spaghetti mixture (the liquid should coat the spaghetti). Sprinkle the remainder of the cheese over the top of the mixture and bake it at 160º C or gas mark 6 for about 20 minutes until the cheese on the top has browned and is bubbling.
This can be served as a quick vegetarian dish with a roll and butter or as the vegetable accompaniment with a pasty, pie or pizza.
(Note: all quantities are approximate; two servings )
