Versed thoughts (chapter 84): My Twitter Story
21 Mar 2026
Dear LPG,
I wonder if any other LPG readers have found themselves caught up in a conversation that turns electronic. It usually happens when one of my younger relatives is doing his or her best to explain the rudiments of what seems like a perfectly simple electronic principle which all makes perfect sense until it doesn’t any more. Like a plane leaving the runway the concepts run a way over the level of my maximum reaches of comprehension.
I am sure it happens to many a person, but the question is; are you the student that continues to show a misleading degree of understanding with a strategically placed mutter and nod, or do you risk the frustration of your teacher as they try to find countless other ways to convey the message to you with limited success.
This was in my mind when my pen shaped the wording of the poem that follows…
My Twitter Story
(witsend corner)
I am here at Wits end corner because I’m a very slow learner I am trying not to burst into laughter as I listened to a poetry reader.
This poem was by Sharon Findlater, it’s one that I’ll always remember as the room was filled with laughter, thank the lord for a sense of humour.
By the way what on Earth is Twitter, asked a listener sometime later. I could not give a proper answer; told you I’m a slow learner.
Trying to cope with the computer has left me standing at Witsend corner. What with: Facebook, Emails, WhatsApp, Twitter, logging on and Blogging,
etcetera, etcetera.
Though in doubt I’ll face the future, with World Wide Web, YouTube and Twitter.
All this high tech gives me the jitters Google, Yahoo, Instagram and Skypers. Yes you are right I did say skypers you put through a call and up comes your pictures there is Voice Recorder, Camera and Calculator, Game Zones, Snapchat, World clock and Movies and let’s not forget our dear friend Twitter.
