Dear readers, 

LPG has recently expanded its charitable work to include a film-making initiative...  They call themselves Codger Productions and aim to make sure that the average pensioner can show video content and have an electronic place where they can add to the internet video mix.  They acknowledge that they have limited equipment and know-how when it comes to filmmaking, but they are proud of the films they have managed to produce over the four years of their existence so far.   

The age-related aspect of the electronic playing field is gradually becoming more equal, and the group has worked very hard to produce a little more content in an effort to help to balance the scales.   

We invite readers to have a look at one of the short films we have produced, which is entitled ‘Things we used to do’ 

The film does its best to convey a simple message.  When we get to the latter part of our lives, emphasis often turns to thoughts of how we want to leave our mark on the world, while we also find ourselves looking back at its place in our thoughts. 

We used this film to ask one simple question and some of our participants gave some really significant and unique answers.  

While revealing their practical and geographical recollections, some memories of times gone by, and some ‘back home’ experiences, among other aspects of those reminiscences that being asked such a question is able to bring to the surface, we hope that you will identify with some of the answers and perhaps offer us your own for a future episode of this series…
