Dear LPG,  

While taking a look at some of the past posts on your pages, I came across this one which I could not pass without letting you know that, in the absence of any other celebratory tribute, you might have in store, I strongly feel that this day needs highlighting.   So I would ask that you repeat this post even though the original appeared nearly 9 years ago. 

For someone who is not real, he has been, and continues to go to all sorts of places that fire our imaginations, and since that 9-year-old tribute was written, he has even been entertaining our late queen who he, no doubt, had some influence on during her childhood.    


The writer captured exactly what I would have said had I thought of writing on the subject first, and I think that today, which marks exactly 100 years since the publication of the first-ever book to feature this very significant and cherished character from so many childhoods, needs to be marked.  We pensioners, our great-grandchildren and all the generations in between, are likely to have come across at least one of his adventures, which is nearly sure to have left at least a momentary warm fuzzy feeling that only Pooh and his friends could provoke…
