Your LPG needs YOU

06 Sep 2017

Human resources are one of the two most important commodities that every organisation needs to survive and like so many Lewisham organisations the LPG is running out of both!

We have been serving pensioners for over 30 years and have survived many a crisis but this period of austerity has been really challenging.  We have seen many local community and charity organisations forced to give up the fight for lack of continuing support.

We research the subjects that interest our readers. but that is not all.  Behind the editorial effort, there is the production and distribution that turns articles into a finished newsletter, gets it printed and delivered to your door or to a local collection point.  This work is done by a small band of regular volunteers without whom we simply could not function.  However, we are sometimes hard pushed to achieve all that needs to be done and we are in serious need of volunteers willing to help out as and when they can, doing what they can.  If you have creative skills and can write, edit, share the job of delivering the Gazette around the borough – we invite you all to offer us your time and services.  “Many hands make light work” is the message, so if you are willing and able to help in any way, please get in touch.

Lastly, but by no means least, it takes money to publish.  The Board is determined to keep the LPG free to all readers and so we look to sponsorship and advertising to cover our financial needs.

If you know or have any influence with a potential advertiser or sponsor who would like to gain exposure to our readership, do please let us know.  It only takes a few sponsors to cover our needs and to ensure that the Gazette can continue. Professional firms like doctors, dentists, solicitors and accountants, even funeral directors, are all eager to serve you, as are the manual trades: plumbers, electricians, builders, etc.  It could make a big difference to the Gazette if any local firm could give us their support, so please let us know if there is anyone you know whom we could approach.   If you enjoy reading the Gazette, please help us to continue our work.
