The result of my three favourite pastimes just for you…

30 Jul 2018

Dear LPG,

I read and particularly agreed with the last paragraph of your news article dated 19th April this year which encouraged older people to do what they want to do when they want to do it, and I completely agree with that doctrine.

My main focus is on popping off on holiday to far-flung places around the world for as long as I can.   I have other two passions.  I admit to being a bit of a compulsive Googler and I also have always had a serious dislike for the habit of smoking.

Through my life I have never ever smoked but, I remember coming home from work with the smell of tobacco in my hair and on my clothes back in the 1960s.

I know that I should have sent this to be published last July 1st as it was the tenth anniversary of the day that it became illegal to smoke in any indoor public place in England.  I remember seeing people the following winter, and for many winters after, standing outside office and shop doorways, often in the snow just to enjoy a quick puff ,and I did feel sorry for them. But the amount of people that do that now has decreased, which is a good thing

But back to my other two passions.  I mentioned that I like to jet off and I find it quite valuable to find out what the smoking habits of my destination are.  So while I was browsing I found the website that I hope LPG will share just in case there are any other non-smoking, computer savvy, holiday explorers that may be interested.
