...the voice of pensioners

We need to e-represent ourselves.

05 Aug 2018

Dear LPG,

I really enjoy taking a look at the internet.  I got myself a computer once I had retired, but that was some eight years ago now and since then I have not looked back.  To me it is like a very big magazine, and as I find the answer to one question I pose, another interesting concept seems to appear.

But I do find myself asking one question.  So much of the information on so many subjects is geared towards younger people.  They are brave enough to add their ideas, but most of the information about older people is offered by experts.  I think that we ordinary people have a lot to say that is really valid, but for the most part, we are happy to read what is available but very reluctant to offer our contributions.  We don’t get involved which deprives so many readers of our opinions.

Another section of the world that is over represented is the Americans.  I know that they invented the whole thing and the internet is mostly used by people trying to sell stuff to us, but are we not selling ourselves short by not putting our thoughts out there too?

So I appeal to all those older citizens of the rest of the world to catch up and I would like to mention that I believe the LPG website is an excellent way to get started.

 Over to you LPG…

WT, Blackheath.

Ever since we started out in 1984, LPG has been striving to make sure that all pensioners have a way of sharing their ideas and thoughts with each other and nothing has changed except that we are now on line. We at LPG are looking to share the thoughts of pensioners from anywhere in internet land.  Please remember that you don’t need to be able to use a computer to voice your opinions. Just telephone or write to us using our new address and we will do the writing for you.
