Stop those bats from flying….

24 Feb 2019

Dear LPG

As I have become older, I know that I have become lazier.  I am now in my late 70s and I am lucky enough to be in relatively good health.  I am still able to do my own house work and cooking and I do get out with my friends on a daily basis.  It sounds like the perfect lifestyle, and I have to say that I know how fortunate I am to still be able to do all these things, but there is one aspect of a healthy regime for life that I have been avoiding according to my son.

Whenever we meet up, he spends quite a lot of his time telling me that I do not exercise enough.  My argument is that I get all the exercise I need while I am going about my daily routine, but I know that he does have a point when he tells me that while most of my muscles are being catered for there are some that are missed out altogether if they are not targeted.

I have to admit that I was showing signs of saggy triceps, or bat wings as they are called, but there are exercises that can be done to combat them even when you get to my age.

I have found a couple that are easy and don’t take very long, and would like to recommend them to other readers (men and women) who have the same problem.

By the way I forgot to say that my son is a personal trainer.

LPG thanks AP for sharing the exercise video offered and has added one designed to target the same muscles in a slightly less intensive way.  We just want to remind readers that everyone is different.  The most important aspect of trying any exercise is knowing our own limitations, so we would recommend that you start without any sort of weights and work up gradually to using what weights you are comfortable with.
