A message from LPG

06 May 2019

Dear Readers,

While we are anxious to fill our pages with messages from our pensioners, sometimes every now and then we have a message of our own to offer and today we are going to make that exception.

Firstly, while we are fairly near the beginning of a new year, we would like to say thank you to all our readers for continuing to read and share our pages.

We have recently been sent a few interesting comments from readers who have offered us messages that they have asked us to feature on a particular date or at a particular time of year in the future.   In fact we have even been offered one or two stories which their writers have asked us to print a year after they are written.  We have also received ‘follow up’ comments on the same subject which have been offered by the same writer with a gap of as much as a year between the two [see LB of  Florida’s new year comments which featured over the past two years…  (►►►)   (►►►) ].

We like to think of LPG as a place where any person who has a comment to offer from the perspective of us people who are slightly older can do so and want readers and perspective contributors to know that we welcome all comments and are happy to keep them until the time that our readers want them featured.  Learning the outcome of a situation or finding out what happened later, after or as a result of our readers’ first experience of any predicament is something that we feel can be shared to the benefit of other readers, so if you have a comment, story or experience that needs to be shared at a particular time in the future, please let us know and we will be happy to accommodate such a request.

We, its editorial group, see LPG as a social archive which will, in the future help to remind our children and grandchildren about what life as an older person was like in our time, and appreciate all the writings that we receive.

We are a relatively small organisation and really appreciate hearing from any pensioner out there in internet land on any subject that they would like to offer.  And we are also always looking for the help of any interested person who has some basic internet skills and could spare an hour or two a week or month to get a little more involved with the administration needed to keep the LPG website going.
