Romford… A reader’s appeal..

11 Aug 2019

Dear LPG,

I have been reading the LPG for many of its 35 years although there were a few months when I lost contact a couple of years ago.  I have learned all I know about using a computer since I retired and have now found my way back to LPG’s articles.

I was born and brought up in Lewisham but, half way through my childhood, circumstances took my family to Romford in Essex.  In many ways it is not that different from Lewisham but, although I have been based in this area since that time I have never really been settled.  My work has been varied and taken me to quite a few places over the years but since I have retired I have become restless again.  I cannot put my finger on why but I think that I have always wanted to move back to the area where I grew up.

In Romford, I now live in a first-floor flat that has a separate bedroom and living room, a bathroom and newly decorated Kitchen.  The flat is in a sheltered housing complex with a lift and a warden which is run by Havering Council and, over the past eight years, I spent quite some time trying all the ways I can think of to advertise the fact I am very interested in swapping my home with a retired person who perhaps has family or friends who live in Romford and would like to move back there.

I say that I have tried everything but it has never occurred to me to try an online appeal, so my letter today is an attempt to see if the virtual world of the internet can help me succeed where the real world has failed so far.

I would ask that any reader who sees my appeal and may know someone who is interested would pass the word on.

PG, Romford.

LPG will be happy to pass on address details to anyone who is genuinely interested in PGs proposition but, in the interests of security, would ask that anyone who is attracted by such a proposition contact us by telephoning either 0208 690 5324 or 07532 091 539
