Respect to the fairer sex.

Dear LPG

In recognition of National Women’s Day this year I would like to offer a little appreciation from one man’s point of view…

“I love you like cook food”, is a phrase some Jamaicans use to express their love of someone or something.   I am using it to express my love for woman kind today.   I love them like cooked food and there is no substitute, but there are no aspects of any woman’s life that I would want to experience.  I am glad that I am a man.

I suppose that there are women in the world who would like to be men for whatever reason and there must also be men who would like to be women but, like Sly & Family Stone said in the song, ‘different strokes for different folks’.  My respect to all the good women in the world; for those who have experienced excruciating pain (so I am told); that of giving birth.  Many experience the pain more than once so it must be gratifying when children grow up and appreciate their mothers and their birth.

We men will never ever experience that kind of pain.  I personally think too many women are vulnerable as they still suffer injustice and betrayal from others and society all over the world, but they bare their pains very well.  If they don’t complain, we men don’t know because they continue doing their chores as usual.

Some of us men are wimps but won’t admit it.   So my respect goes out to our women folk.  Long may you be soft skinned sweet smiling feminine and maternal no matter your age.

LPG thought that the song Rudy was referring to would bring back a few memories…
