The merits of hanging your head…

22 Oct 2019

Dear LPG,

I don’t sleep very well these days and, as a result, I find myself on line looking at anything of interest.  The other day I found another American brainchild which is supposed to help deal with the pain that we often get at the base of the spine.

This invention is called the neck hammock and I note that it again appears to have been made for all the wellbeing of the young people rather than us elders, and although I am sure that it will not be the answer for all, there may be some elders with similar symptoms to the ones in their advert that this contraption is designed to deal with.  It is designed to allow one’s neck to sort of hang suspended for short periods of time, although how elders are supposed to get down to the floor in order to take advantage of its healing properties  is a bit of a conundrum to me.

I suppose that a picture hook on the wall above the bed head (with a removable picture to avoid the unsightliness of it when it is out of use) might be an answer.  I have to say that the reason that I came across it in the first place is because of the pain that interrupts my ability to sleep during the night, so I am willing to try anything once.

I have no doubt that it will soon be one of those up to 20 minute adverts that can be seen as you click your way through the television channels in the early hours, because most of the things that I discover on line like this end up with us sooner or later…

Who knows, it might work for some…

LPG has shared the advert pertaining to this new discovery but also found some comments offered about the merits and disadvantages of  the product.  LPG would again mention that perhaps a visit to see a GP should be arranged before trying such a product…
