Co-Codamol and constipation; another solution?

22 Nov 2019

Dear LPG,

I am not a writer, but I am an older pensioner who knows all about the effects of Co-codamol, and I have no doubt that most 85-year olds   know what I am talking about.   I read what CG had to say on this subject (►►►) and although a knee replacement can also result in the use of this pain relief medicine, I think that I am now at the sort of age when the niggling back aches start to get stronger and, if you want to continue with life as you know it, there is a need to get some real help.

Medication is usually the next step in pain relief but comes with, let us say, side effects.  The one that comes out at the top of the list is constipation and being really anxious about the backache that started the whole problem in the first place is replaced with the often debilitating consequence of the other.

I am speaking from personal experience; I don’t think that I am alone, but I have found a solution which may be temporary but is working at the moment and which I would like to let others know about just in case it works for them.

I am talking about a product called Slim Tea which a friend recommended and which, at the moment is really making a difference to me.

I got my tea from Holland and Barrett, but it was only when I looked online that I realised that there are so many different ones.  All I have to say is that at my age I am not trying to get slimmer but it is working for my other problem.

I know it is not the easiest subject to talk about but if writing this makes a difference to just one reader who has not heard of it before I will feel that broaching the subject is worth it.
