Seeing past the fog to the shop-shelves…

27 Aug 2020

Dear LPG,

There have been many problems caused by Covid-19 but now that we are slowly getting back to being able to leave the house and venture out I am one of those who is sensing an air of normality.  As one who has taken getting out and about for granted for so long being able to make my own shopping choices is a privilege that I will, from now on cherish in a way that I never have before.

But I am English and we English can always find something to dampen the mood.  I thought that I was the only one who has this problem but I have found a few bits of online evidence that I am not alone.  So many of us wear glasses and they really don’t work so well if you are wearing a, now obligatory, mask as you renew your love affair with picking your own brand of the products that you prefer from the supermarket-offered selection.

I was surprised at the selection of ways that people have offered on the internet to overcome this problem and thought that for other sufferers it would be a good idea to bring them to the attention of our readers.    I have asked LPG to add some links to the bottom of my message…

I have to say that, in the light of how long the covid-19 virus is likely to be sharing our existence with us, I never realised just how much skill and practise we are going to need to get this new essential piece of outdoor protective clothing right.
