The ‘Good Person; Bad Person’ life balance assessment… Part 2

22 Nov 2020

Dear readers,

I would like to refer any reader who has not yet accepted it, to take a look at the challenge that I set during my previous message to LPG (►►►), where I hope that you have learned a little about the objective measure of your ‘goodness’.

I will not go into too much detail but, having done a couple of those tests myself and finding myself with a slightly disappointing collection of results, I decided that I may be lacking somewhat and in possession of a character which can be described as a little below par.  My next thought was of those many encouraging comments that have been offered by those who have known me over the years.  According to many of those, I came through with a much better character than the internet showed me to possess.

It is interesting that nearly every individual has the ability to show our friends a version of ourselves that exhibits so much more positivity than is picked up by a candidly-answered internet test, but I am betting that nearly everyone learned about their possession of some qualities that they would prefer not to be associated with.

The anonymity that such internet tests allow, resulted in my letting myself be a little more honest than I am willing to be when interacting with those around me, and I found myself admitting that the failings in my internet assessed character, no matter how small, really do bother me somewhat.

But there is light at the end of this tunnel.  Having done some personal research, I thought it worth passing this on in case I am not the only person who has entered the ‘Good Person; Bad Person’ assessment of my life with an overall less than perfect outcome.

No matter how well you came out of any of these quizzes, complacency is a guaranteed way of letting standards slip.  So I have decided that all I can do is strive to improve on the present version of me and the internet is always there to help.

Perhaps it is all about assessing where you are now and working your way up from there.  If we are honest there is always room for a little improvement…
