Time to take stock and give your ‘To do’ list a little rest…

07 Mar 2021

Dear LPG,

I read an article on your pages which was written by someone who read an earlier article which featured on those same pages and it pricked my conscience somewhat.

DP was talking about how the pandemic has made us a little lethargic and how easy a trap that is to fall into when you have nowhere to be each day, no deadlines to meet and no one depending on you.

Her message was one designed to get us all to sit up and pay attention to what might well have been going on in our lives, and I have to thank her for waking me up to the fact that I am getting lazy. But did you know that today is the first day of a week dedicated to deferment, postponement and all that is related?

Today marks the start of National Postponement week according to the internet; a week when, ten years ago, a Frenchman named David d’Equainville invented National Procrastination Week.

He believes that stopping to take stock of your life, your plans, and your priorities is a head-clearing experience.  Which is a way of finding an excuse to slow down for a week.

So it appears that we all have a week to stop what we were doing and put our ‘things to do’ list in order, but remember that this celebration is only one week long!

p.s.

…a little message to DP, you did inspire me to do my curtains.

GG, Catford.
