29 Oct 2017

Now that summer has arrived, you might be feeling like spending more time outdoors. There are thousands of things you can do in and around London; however, it is very nice to discover new places. Here is a list of day trips from London that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

· Brighton. Brighton is a seaside city with lovely beaches and one of the most famous piers in Britain. One of the most visited places in this town is the Royal Pavilion, a former royal residence built in the Indian style. Another attraction is the little lanes area, full of interesting shops and fancy restaurants. Trains from: many stations including London Bridge, London Victoria and Clapham Junction.

· St Albans. This city is only a 20-minute train ride from London and is famous for its Roman heritage. A giant section of Roman wall and a Roman theater remain standing, and you cannot leave this city without visiting its impressive cathedral. Trains from: London's St Pancras International

· Rye. The pretty little streets of this medieval town and its quiet charm offer the perfect escape from the intensity of the city. You'll find narrow passages and beautifully preserved Medieval, Tudor and Georgian buildings. There are quality independent retailers that sell luxury products, antiques, and books. Trains from: London's St Pancras International to Ashford International, where you have to take a bus to Rye.

· Henley on Thames. This market town is famous for its annual rowing regatta, which lasts for 5 days (Wednesday to Sunday) over the first weekend in July. Henley on Thames is a beautiful town with lovely little streets and a wonderful market square. Trains from: London Paddington to Twyford, where you have to change trains to Henley on Thames.

These are only some examples, but there are many other places where you can go to spend a summer's day. As you can see, you don't need to go far to find charming beautiful places. Let us know of your favorite place.
