Rabbits, it’s your time to shine!

22 Jan 2023

Dear LPG,

I remember some 12 years ago when, having bought his first house, my favourite nephew announced that he was going to buy a house bunny.  I had my doubts about that idea because, as far as I can remember rabbits poop quite a lot and I mentioned it to him with the result that the idea has been shelved ever since.  But I recently learned that they do have a lot more then poop to offer.

This year is the year of the rabbit and according to the Chinese, their astrological traits show that they produce a lot more than lots of poop.  The Chinese see people born under the influence of the rabbit as having many attributes that we might not readily put together.   The internet tells that they are gentle but skilful, quiet but alert, elegant but quick and responsible though often preferring to avoid the real world for a more virtual one of their choosing from time to time.

If you were born in the years 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963 or 1975 you are likely to be a Chinese rabbit, and since I had reason to look up what the Chinese have to say about a bunny-influenced friend of mine, I thought it might be worth passing on what I learned to coincide with the celebration of the Chinese New Year which focusses in on them.

As in western astrology, online predictions vary somewhat depending on which website you look at but from what the internet told me, for Chinese rabbits, it is not all going to be plane sailing.  The general advice is that you should not make any major changes to your life this year, but be assured that there will be a very positive calm coming after its relative

storms.

Once Google had taken me there, I could not help but take a look at how all the other signs will fare as this Chinese New year gets underway, so I have left a little research for anyone who will see all the news reports later today showing dancing dragons, smiling oriental faces and Chinese music, and find themselves wondering what the Chinese version of 2023 might have in store for them.

Perhaps the last thing to mention is while the whole poo scenario can become a bit of an issue as some of us get a bit older my rabbit friend is well and truly housetrained…
